Khalid has not responded to these allegations, and representatives for Khalid didn’t instantly reply to HuffPost’s request for remark. In the meantime, musician MNEK instantly addressed Almonte on X, accusing him of participating in “loser behaviour.”
Almonte advised Vulture he “by no means” meant to “out somebody who’s clearly been out already locally in Los Angeles.” He stated his “intentions” have been to “share my story and share how [Khalid] tried to make use of his energy to silence me as a result of I merely ended our relationship, he was afraid of what I’d say.”
Khalid, for his half, seems prepared to maneuver on. In a closing tweet Friday night, he signed off with a message of affection suggesting he’s stated all he has to say.
