BREAKING: Delta regional jet concerned in crash touchdown in Toronto; all occupants ‘accounted for,’ airport says
All passengers and crewmembers are accounted for after a Delta Air Strains regional jet was concerned in an emergency incident Monday afternoon at Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) Monday afternoon, the airport confirmed.
In keeping with the Federal Aviation Administration, the Delta Connection jet crashed whereas touchdown in Toronto at round 2:45 p.m. EST.
All 80 passengers and crewmembers on board the CRJ900 plane have been evacuated, the FAA stated.
Extensively shared photographs on social media confirmed the Delta Connection jet flipped over on its high on the Toronto runway amid frigid, wintry circumstances on the airport.
It isn’t but clear what number of passengers have been injured.
The jet, operated by Delta regional subsidiary Endeavor Air, was working as Delta flight 4819, inbound to Toronto from the provider’s Minneapolis St. Paul Worldwide Airport (MSP) hub, departed MSP at 11:34 a.m. CST, the airline stated, noting it was conscious of the incident.
The Transportation Security Board of Canada will lead the investigation.
Monday’s crash comes weeks after a lethal collision involving an American Airways regional jet close to Ronald Reagan Washington Nationwide Airport (DCA) on Jan. 29, which stays below investigation by the Nationwide Transportation Security Board.
