Delta Air Strains on Friday stated that Mike Spanos, its chief working officer, will depart the airline for a brand new job on the finish of August.

In a memo to employees considered by TPG, airline CEO Ed Bastian stated that Spanos had stated earlier this summer time that he was exploring one other alternative.

“He wasn’t the person who we have been counting on to make the choices,” Bastian advised The Wall Road Journal in an interview earlier this month, noting Spanos’ “newness to the business.”

Delta doesn’t plan to switch Spanos, Bastian stated in Friday’s memo. As a substitute, two senior leaders who beforehand reported to Spanos will report on to the CEO: John Laughter, who oversees numerous operational areas like flights, upkeep and pilot staffing, and Allison Ausband, the airline’s head of buyer expertise.
