The 96th Meeting District contains the southern half of La Crosse and all of Vernon County. It’s a probably Democratic seat.
THE NUTSHELL
Incumbent Rep. Loren Oldenburg, R-Viroqua, will face the winner of an Aug. 13 Democratic main between Tara Johnson of La Crosse and Steve Campbell of Viroqua.
Final 12 months, Oldenburg and different Republicans sponsored an “Iowa-style” redistricting invoice, which might have allowed the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau to attract the brand new maps.
